WHY
Climate Change Is Impacting Vietnam
Green Tuesday Initiative helps you serve more climate-friendly, plant-based food in your cafeterias and works in tandem with nutritionists and experts.
Human Impact
Climate change leads to extreme weather events, droughts, and heavy rainfall, threatening food security. It also contributes to forest fires and storms, worsens air quality, impacts human lives, and causes health complications, vector-borne diseases, and mental health issues.
Sea Level Rise
Climate change will increase climate-induced migration, displacing over 7 million residents and flooding the homes of 14.2 million people in the Mekong Delta. Furthermore, 70% of the land under cultivation in the region is threatened by saltwater intrusion.
Water Crises
Reduced river flows during dry periods negatively impact hydropower production, which is the largest renewable energy source (40%). The agriculture and industry sectors are also affected by limited water supplies.
